Okay, so I can't keep up with everything that I want to possibly know about. I know that I'm oldschool for still doing most of my reading through gmail, instead of the latest RSS readers. C'est la vie. (actually, I do a pretty good job of organizing my view of the blogosphere with netvibes).
But now, I can't even keep up with my all the stuff I want to watch in my gmail account. Google, are you listening? Here's a freebie for you:
Give me the ability to scan my unread mail by context. You already give me the ability to tag (categorize) my messages. I'd like to tag my contacts. Some are business, some are associates of my various interests. It would be great if I could just display a tag-cloud of unread messages, then I could just scan and make sure the stuff I care about isn't being ignored.
Sure, the easy way to solve the problem is just to unsubscribe from everything (what my wife has been suggesting for years). Surely I don't have to go that retro, do I?
